We’re excited to deepen our collaboration with Microsoft Places and unveil a powerful new capability: customers can now seamlessly use their VergeSense floor plans within Microsoft Places. This new feature enables users to better visualize, plan, and optimize their office environments to create spaces that align with employee preferences and organizational goals, leveraging up-to-date floor plans from VergeSense and the AI-powered connected workplace abilities of Microsoft Places. Microsoft Places, announced general availability  at last month’s Microsoft Ignite in Chicago, is a new AI-powered workplace application solution that enables seamless coordination for employees, modernizes ease of in-office connection and experiences, and empowers teams to optimize their spaces and maximize their ROI.

Building on a Foundation of Innovation

This feature builds on our previously announced integration that brings together real-time space usage data from the VergeSense Occupancy Intelligence Platform with Microsoft Places, enabling organizations to optimize their offices and increase space availability for employees.

This latest announcement takes our collaboration to the next level by enabling all VergeSense customers to export and use their up-to-date floor plans in Microsoft Places. With this seamless connection, organizations can make smarter data-driven decisions for buildings across their portfolios.

The integration now allows companies to:

  • Access up-to-date floor plans in Microsoft Places to better visualize office layouts.
  • Optimize spaces based on accurate occupancy data and employee needs.

VergeSense's Mapping Infrastructure

The Occupancy Intelligence Platform is built on mapping infrastructure that converts floor plans in any format (DWG, PDF, etc.) into geographically referenced data models in the Indoor Mapping Data Format (IMDF). These digital maps are then merged with space metadata and measured occupancy data to create a comprehensive digital replica of customers’ offices. The Occupancy Intelligence Platform directly integrates with various integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) to continuously sync floorplans and metadata, automating otherwise manual change management processes. This approach is critical for AI-enabled predictions and simulation powered by Workplace Assistant.

Key benefits of VergeSense’s mapping capabilities include:

  • Automated updates to floor plans and metadata to reflect layout changes through integrations with IWMS platforms.
  • Seamless compatibility of floor plans with Microsoft Places and the ability to easily export floor plans in the IMDF format to Microsoft Places for improved workplace planning.

Shaping the Future of Workplace Optimization

The expanded integration between VergeSense and Microsoft Places reflects the growing demand for intelligent, connected workplace solutions. Together, these platforms empower organizations to optimize their real estate portfolios while enhancing employee experiences.

As we continue to innovate, our collaboration with Microsoft Places reinforces our commitment to delivering actionable insights that drive better decisions and elevate workplace strategies.
